Dashmesh FC, a veteran Brampton soccer team, captured the championship at the 2025 Coppa Giovanni Tournament held in Sault Ste. Marie from July 4 to 6. Competing in the 35+ division, Dashmesh delivered a series of commanding performances—capped off with a 6–1 victory over PSC in the final.

This tournament win adds to the growing reputation of Brampton soccer teams competing across Ontario.

A Standout Final Performance

The final match was dominated by Dashmesh FC, with Kavin Bryan scoring a memorable hat trick and Sahjah Reid controlling the midfield. Their talent and execution proved too much for PSC. As the final whistle blew, the players described feeling proud and energized by their win.

Before kickoff, a 30-second moment of silence was held in tribute to Diogo Jota—bringing added meaning to the match.

A Brampton Soccer Team’s Road to Victory

Dashmesh played four games during the weekend, starting with a close 3–2 win in their opening match. From there, the team settled in and recorded comfortable wins. Player Parminder Marara had a breakthrough performance, while consistent chemistry and long-term team experience helped maintain momentum.

Captain Dharminder Bains and Coach Harminder Gill led a well-prepared squad that trained twice a week and committed to strength workouts in the lead-up to the event.

The Dashmesh FC roster is filled with players who’ve been together for 8–10 years—something that clearly showed on the pitch. There were no lineup changes needed; the team stuck with a proven formation and strategy throughout the tournament.

Post-Tournament Celebrations

After the win, the team celebrated with friends and family and plans a goat meat and BBQ party at Fortel warehouse later this week after their long post tournament commute back to the friendly confines of Brampton. Players also shared memories of a fun motel dance party during the tournament—adding some light-heartedness to a well-earned achievement.

Kulwant Jhutty shared, “This win means a lot. Our mindset was to be up 3–0 by halftime in the final—and we did it.”
