Key Players Leave Champions for Hamilton Rivals

The Canadian Premier League was rocked over the weekend when Pacific FC issued “Thank You” statements to two of the key contributors in their title winning 2021 season.

Striker Terran Campbell scored 13 goals in Pacific’s championship campaign and was a contender for MVP in the CPL’s third season.

Midfielder Alessandro Hojabrpour scored the lone goal and inevitable winner when Pacific FC visited Forge FC at Tim Horton’s Field for the Championship match. Hojabrapour was subsequently given with the Canadian Premier League’s U21 Player of the Year Award.

What shocked both Pacific FC supporters and followers of the league in general is that the players are set to join two time Champions Forge FC.

While Pacific FC are preparing to defend their title and embark on their first ever international club campaign as they participate in the CONCACAF League, Forge FC are looking to regain their title (having already won the first two) and also set themselves up for every chance of success in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Forge FC are hosting Cruz Azul of LigaMX at Tim Horton’s Field on February 16th, 2022. Tickets available here for this historic match. You can also catch Forge’s CONCACAF Champions League campaign on OneSoccer.ca.
