Brampton Soccer’s Shaan Hundal Signs for Vancouver FC

Earlier this week Vancouver FC, the CPL’s newest club, announced that they had agreed to a deal with Brampton soccer’s Shaan Hundal.

Hundal failed to make an impact in his first stint in the CPL during the Island Games tournament held in PEI. (The CPL’s response to running a season during the height of COVID lockdowns.) Hundaal was just turning 19 then and it was his first professional outing and in such a truncated season, for a Valour side that was bereft of most things, like ideas, and creativity… …it was no wonder that the young Bramptonian wasn’t able to get into his stride.

Hundal has spent the past few seasons with InterMiami’s development teams, the last one with their MLSNext Pro where he managed 6 goals in 21 games (15 starts). At just 23 Vancouver will be hoping they’ve got one for the long term with our Brampton brethren.

It’s always good to see young Brampton talent, that played for our local clubs, that could be found around random pitches across the City, that took every chance to join in some Brampton soccer drop ins and Brampton pick-up soccer sessions, that were steeped in the soccer culture we have here that keeps producing prodigious talents.

Brampton's still the hub for soccer. Soccer in Mississauga must be taking note.
