Canada Wins in Honduras – Highlights

If you missed the match (shame on you) or you’d simply like to revisit the spectacle and watch as Canada wins in Honduras the good news is that OneSoccer has made the highlights package available via their YouTube Channel.

Our Brampton soccer brethren played their part for Canada again with 4 starters in Larin, Hutchinson, Hoilett and Buchanan, followed up by Jonathan Osorio as a second half substitute.

True to recent form, Canada looked difficult to break-down and most of their forays forward offered the promise of a potential goal. It didn’t actually take very long to break the deadlock as Tajon Buchanan, after 4 lightening quick stopovers that saw him beat two Honduran defenders, flashed a hard cross across the face of goal, which left a third Honduran defender completely incapable of sorting himself out and almost intentionally heading into his own net for the 1:0 Canada lead.

Late in the second half, midfield substitute Liam Fraser struck an early pass over the top which was sublimely taken down by Jonathan David, who then… …honestly, no words will do the goal justice. Just watch the highlights. The chest control from David in the midst of a full out sprint is just… ..breathtakingly and absurdly good. Honestly, no description that consists of just words can possibly come close to expressing what that young man actually did.
