New Cup Champs Crowned

For the first time since 2016, the BAS has a new Cup Champion as holders VSFC fell earlier today to G-Torino FC in the Cup Final. VSFC’s unprecedented run lasted over 2500 days, but was finally snapped after a 2-0 loss to Div A Champions, and new Brampton soccer club with the biggest bragging rights, G-Torino FC.

The conditions were less than ideal for the Cup Final, with a chilly wind and a slick field making it difficult for both teams to find their footing. However, G-Torino managed to produce a goal in each half off of the feet of Merrick Daley Jr and Kemoy Rose. Despite the two markers by G-Torino, VSFC had the better chances throughout the match, but were stymied repeatedly by the excellent goalkeeping of Kimali Plummer.

Despite their loss, VSFC can be proud of their impressive run, which included 25 consecutive wins in the Cup competition.
