Profile Photos Now Mandatory

All registered members of BAS who are participating in the current session will be required to provide a head shot, which can be used to verify their identity via their profile photos.

Without an approved photo posted to their profile, registrants will not appear on the gamesheet and thus will be ineligible to participate.

Why the change? BAS has gone to great lengths over the years to ensure that only registered members are participating in matches AND on their designated team(s) when playing adult soccer in Brampton. Those who are not registered create a liability issue for all others, including YOU. You may be wondering, “Why not just register the player rather than break the rules?” Good question and we don’t know the answer, but what we do know is this type of rule evasion/contravention occurs regularly; albeit it’s more common during summer outdoor than fall/winter indoor.

The profile photo is just the latest tool that can be utilized to verify the identity of players. This may now negate the need for providing government-issued identification, which was always viewed by the players as an inconvenience at best and an aggravation at worst.

These specific photos will only be displayed on a profile page when the registrant logs in, may be displayed next to your comment on a BAS post or standings page and if you qualify for the top scorers list in any given season. However, your profile photo can be made ‘private’ so that on public facing sides of the site, instead of your picture, people will see a soccer ball icon.

If you’re a registered player who is now required to provide a profile photo, you can ask your team rep for more details or simply follow the instructions below.
