The brisk conditions added an extra layer of unpredictability to the match, but it was Jinky’s Captain and birthday boy, Clayton Mill who stole the show with a remarkable hat-trick performance.The Nighthawks and FC Bolas started brightly, with both teams having plenty of chances to open the scoring. Eventually both teams ended up finding the back of the net in the first half, but it was Jinky’s Nighthawks who entered the interval up 2 – 1. Before moving on to the second half it should be to mentioned that each team had committed a small foul in their own penalty box leading to a penalty for each. Both teams ended up hitting the woodwork and not capitalizing on their penalty chances. The second half of FC Bolas vs. Jinky’s Nighthawks saw the game truly come to life with the remaining 5 goals of the game scored after the half-time break. There were some beautiful solo runs, team plays, and an FC Bolas attacker’s perfectly placed free kick, soaring into the top left corner.Unfortunately that was not enough for FC Bolas to snatch the 3 points, leaving Clayton Mill and Jinky’s Nighthawks with a strong finish to the match and giving them the 3 points with a 5-3 victory.The final whistle blew on a thrilling encounter that showcased attacking football at its finest. Clayton Mill’s hat-trick on his birthday was the difference between the sides, earning him a well-deserved player of the match honours. His teammates celebrated by telling the photographer about his special day and making sure to get some pictures of him with his match ball.This victory was a big one for Jinky’s Nighthawks. And on a day when the wind played its part, it was Clayton Mill who truly blew away the opposition, making it a Brampton soccer birthday he won’t soon forget.
