Jacen Russell-Rowe: Another Brampton Soccer HopefulPosted on July 4, 2022September 11, 2022 by Brampton Adult Soccer0 The City of Brampton, home of Brampton Adult Soccer and other footballing organizations, continues to give Canada reason to believe that it is the epicenter of Canadian football as Jacen Russell-Rowe makes the step up to MLS. It is almost an undebatable fact at this point considering that 32% of the national team roster in the last few windows was comprised of players who cut their footballing teeth in Brampton before turning pro. The most recent addition to Brampton’s ranks of successful young professionals is 19 year old Jacen Russell-Rowe who just completed his shift from Columbus Crew’s MLSNext side to join their senior team in the MLS. In a recent showing against his former parent club, Toronto FC, Russell-Rowe assisted both of Columbus Crew’s goals on Thursday, June 30th, 2022. While Canada’s forward line, with regards to a potential national team call-up, is very well stacked at the moment with David, Larin, Davies, Buchanan, Ugbo and Hoillet (4 of 6 also from Brampton) it’s important to remember that Jacen Russell-Rowe is still only 19. For Canada’s 2026 World Cup (guaranteed entry as a co-host), Russell-Rowe will still be only 24 and in his prime, assuming his blazingly hot run of form continues. BAS previously published a proposed All Brampton XI for Canada and we’ve now got yet another forward to add to the rotation. We may need to turn this into some sort of living document that we can keep updating as all of these young Brampton soccer representatives step-up to the professional level and keep churning out stellar performances for their club sides. Russell-Rowe isn’t the only Canadian making noise with Columbus Crew as former Cavalry FC player, Mo Farsi left the CPL to give the MLS a go this year. Thus far feedback on Farsi has been stellar. According to OneSoccer.ca’s Alexandre Gagnué-Ruzic: “Mo Farsi, has also been electric for the Crew II this season, sitting with a league-leading six assists despite playing at right back. As a result, the former Cavalry man has also earned some call-ups to the Crew first team, making some wonder if he could soon follow Russell-Rowe’s footsteps in signing a first-team deal.” Alexandre Gagnué-Ruzic for One Soccer Leave a Reply You must be registered BAS member AND logged in to participate in discussions.
