Ferryside Darby: A Canadian Soccer Story

Back in January 2022 BAS shared it’s “Top 5 Matches of 2021” complete with highlight videos courtesy of OneSoccer.ca. One of those matches was the energetic, wild and highly entertaining “Ferryside Darby” which pitted Pacific FC (CPL) against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the preliminary rounds of the Canadian Championship. Darby Magazine, in conjunction with OneSoccer.ca released a short documentary earlier today titled “Ferryside Darby: A Canadian Soccer Story” which we can not recommend highly enough.

The short film features quick cuts of pre-match interviews with players, coaching staff and Canadian soccer journalist, Alexandre Gagnué-Ruzic, followed by some new angles of the goals scored and then some post-match reactions. One of the best things about the documentary is that a lot of the in-game footage used was from within the crowd at Starlight Stadium in Langford, B.C., so you get a real feel for the energy that was present in the stands that night.
