Brampton Soccer Hopeful: Reshaun WalkesPosted on January 17, 2022September 11, 2022 by Brampton Adult Soccer0 Another Brampton soccer hopeful has started to make waves in the greater Canadian soccer community. 22 year old Reshaun Walkes was selected by Toronto FC during the January 11th, MLS Super Draft. Walkes had been honing his abilities, participating in various Brampton soccer programs since an early age. In fact, if you’ve played in BAS over the past decade, there’s a good chance you’ve seen Reshaun in the hallways at the Save Max Centre (Brampton Soccer Centre) or on one of the pitches during city run pick-up sessions. “He’s a goal-scorer. He’s athletic, he’s a threat and I like the way when he gets in certain situations that he finishes.”Bob Bradley, TFC Head Coach/Manager via TSN.ca/Canadian Press Playing for University of Texas Rio Grande Reshaun led his team in points last season with 9 goals and 7 assists, playing in all 17 of their matches, 13 of which he was a starter. Prior to that Walkes attended Illinois’ Lewis and Clark Community College where he scored 27 goals and assisted an additional 19 in just 30 games. To round out his pre-TFC career, this young Brampton soccer hopeful also aided USL League Two’s Des Moines Menace in winning the 2021 regular-season and playoffs. Toronto FC players are scheduled for medicals this week and will be flying out to California for pre-season training, where Walkes will be looking to follow in the footsteps of a previous Brampton soccer hopeful, Jonathan Osorio, who impressed coaches during pre-season his first season and found himself quickly in the starting rotation. Toronto’s MLS season is set to kick-off on February 26th, 2022 at Dallas.
